New Mind’s progressive new website for the City of Gloucester aims to raise its profile as a thriving visitor destination, offering a perfect balance of old and new.

www.thecityofgloucester.co.uk has a distinctive contemporary design, complemented by swift navigation and comprehensive themed content, aimed at the destination’s key target markets.
Visitors to the city and local residents have access to a wealth of diverse information, from details on the historic Gloucester Docks and Norman Cathedral to Gloucester Quays Designer Outlet Centre and the city’s many pubs and restaurants. Details on the many attractions of the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean and Cheltenham, all within a stone’s throw from the city, can also be swiftly retrieved from the site.
The new site benefits from VisitBritain's National Polling engine, allowing the City of Gloucester to offer price comparisons and accommodation booking from a number of sources including Late Rooms, Expedia, Last Minute and Premier Inn. A horizontal search bar stretching across the width of the page has been included following research into visitor behaviour and the site incorporates a banner advertising module, allowing the city to generate income via paid for advertising. Visitors can view video highlights and access social media tools including Facebook, You Tube, Twitter and Flickr and multiple language versions including Chinese, Russian and Japanese are available.
Dominic Stevens, Destination Marketing Manager at Marketing Gloucester comments "The city of Gloucester is going through a massive regeneration programme so we wanted a website that reflected not just the heritage of the city but also the contemporary developments that are taking place. New Mind has developed a site that met our brief to create a modern looking site with a mix of options to generate revenue through listings, online booking and banner ads. The site also integrates the work we do around social networking in an effective way."
