It's a year since the new look www.visitlancashire.com was launched but the marketing team aren't resting on their laurels just yet....
New Mind completed a major project with their long-term customer, Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board in February 2009, resulting in a fresh new look, more engaging content, improved navigation and some stunning new photography. The new site has proved to be a resounding success, as confirmed by an online survey conducted during September 2009.

New Mind's latest site incorporates the organisation's latest brand identity and the home page has been redesigned featuring horizontal searches, an expanded You Tube section and improved navigation. The online booking pages have been further improved and simplified to convert browsers to bookers and availability is now promoted on a national and international scale via the VisitBritain polling functionality.
The addition of New Mind's innovative new Wayfinder technology for trails and walks allows visitors to download detailed maps and directions and print route cards featuring descriptive information and images. Routes can now be downloaded via GPX (GPS Exchange Format), the data format for the interchange of GPS data (waypoints, routes and tracks) between applications and Web services on the internet. Cilla Ristrand, New Media Executive at the Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board comments "We strive to provide our visitors with rich content to inspire and inform their visit to our site. There are now more reasons than ever to use www.visitlancashire.com for researching and exploring what to do during a visit and booking accommodation directly from our ‘comparison site’. The polling integration has resulted in an increase of over 20% more hotels available to book online and innovations like Wayfinder make it easier for visitors to be inspired about making a trip to Lancashire."
A new campaign site has also been developed by New Mind, focusing on the county's rich heritage. The Heritage Revealed site aims to promote Lancashire's abundance of historical sites, mystical legends, fables and folklore. The theme for the new www.embarkonajourney.com site will be rotated every six months and will be backed up by prize draws, themed walks and trails.
