Customers Benefit from New Server Software

New Mind's tourism customers are benefiting from their migration to a robust hosting solution based on VMware's virtualisation software. 

VMware is a proven foundation which has been deployed within the IT strategies of tens of thousands of customers of all sizes around the world.  New Mind invested in the VMware technology last year and is now able to provide its customers with a scaleable solution for the growth of their websites, allowing increased capacity and reducing the risk of downtime. 

One of the benefits of the VMware technology is that New Mind's destination websites are now able to handle peaks in visitor traffic and maintain high availability during busy periods.  For example, during the Bournemouth Air Show last year, www.bournemouth.co.uk attracted a massive 35,000 visitors in a day, breaking New Mind's 'most visited site' record.  The VMware solution enabled the specification of the virtual server to be seamlessly boosted with additional processing power and memory to handle the increased traffic without any adverse effects. 

VMware has allowed New Mind to reduce its carbon footprint too.  The implementation involved the introduction of next generation server hardware resulting in a 75% reduction in physical servers and a huge drop in power consumption.
