New Mind has won its first contract in Scotland and has added Fort William and Lochaber to its expanding portfolio of tourism destinations.
The area has a plethora of tourism potential with spectacular beaches, a beautiful coastline, islands, glens, mountains, forests and of course, Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain and Glencoe. Hill walking, rock climbing, mountain biking, white water rafting, quad biking and canyoning are just some of the activities on offer to outdoor enthusiasts at Fort William and Lochaber.
The Outdoor Capital of the UK (OCUK) is the Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for the region. New Mind was approached with a brief to create a new website which would create sales and generate revenue, appeal and inform prospective visitors and provide value to the areas tourism businesses. Most of all, the new site should attract, entice and inspire with motivational content, seamless navigation and sophisticated planning tools.
New Mind was selected on the basis of the quality of the design work submitted, the flexibility and versatility of its eTourism solution and its track record in boosting online bookings and website traffic for destinations throughout the UK. The OCUK were particularly impressed with New Mind's itinerary planning and interactive mapping functionality.
Teresa de Billot, Project Officer at OCUK comments "We selected New Mind for the job because we wanted a site that would offer cutting edge functionality and, quite simply, make people want to visit the Outdoor Capital! We want prospective visitors to be able to plan their trip easily and conveniently at a ‘one stop shop’ and we were also very impressed with New Mind’s portfolio, reputation and approach. We look forward to working with them on this exciting project. We are confident that www.outdoorcapital.co.uk will become the leading DMO website in Scotland.”
Work on the new site will commence this month.
