New Mind's policy of continous innovation demands that the company is armed with information on the needs of emerging and evolving markets in the tourism industry. In order to stay up-to-date, the company ensures that its customer facing staff attend some of the key events in the tourism calendar.
A delegation has just returned from the Tourism Management Institute's (TMI) Annual Convention, themed this year on 'Destination Management: Cutting Edge Skills for Changing Markets'. Attendees were able to find out how they can capitalise on the emerging opportunities brought about by global sustainable development and the resulting changes in tourism markets by being ahead of the game.
This year's event, hosted by the city of Bristol, included an intensive programme of study tours, presentations, conference sessions and an opportunity to network with tourism colleagues from across the UK. The highlight of the social programme was the Convention Dinner, aboard Brunel's ss Great Britain, the world's first cruise liner.
Managing Director of New Mind, Richard Veal comments, "The growing market share of our Destination Management System means that it is essential to keep abreast of emerging trends in the industry. The TMI Convention provided a valuable opportunity to identify new developments and network with both current customers and new prospects".
