New Mind Goes for Growth

New Mind's growth strategy is in full swing and the future looks to be full of potential, particularly for our tourism solutions.

2008 started with the appointment of our new International Business Development Manager, Tony Radford, who has been busy exploring opportunities for our Destination Management System in overseas markets. So far we have attended two major tourism exhibitions in Berlin and Milan as well as playing an active role at tourism technology conferences in Innsbruck and Athens. Discussions are also currently taking place with a number of exciting prospects in Europe, Latin America and the Far East.

Following the opening of our Romanian office in February, the 8 strong development team have been busy working with our UK team on the next generation of the acclaimed Destination Management System. Having seen the benefits of working with the remote team, New Mind SRL is in the process of moving into larger offices and plans to double the size of the team over the next 12 months.

In the UK, our DMS customers have all, without exception, renewed their contracts for the following year, some committing to upgrades for more sophisticated functionality. Bristol and Bath have upgraded their DMS license to include our Enterprise CMS solution which will allow them to develop their own web sites in-house following the completion of an accreditation process.

To support this growth, New Mind has recruited 5 new members of staff within the Support and Finance departments and our hosting solution has also been upgraded to handle the increased capacity. The new scaleable solution can be extended as required in response to our clients' needs and will be based in
Manchester, running in parallel to the existing London based hosting solution.

All of the above expansion and growth is firmly underpinned by a robust order book. Turnover for the first quarter of this financial year was up 100% on the same period last year.
