New Mind Wins Visit Brighton

New Mind has won the contract to develop a new website, powered by a Destination Management System for VisitBrighton, the destination management organisation for Brighton and Hove.

This latest win followed an intense tender process involving a number of suppliers. New Mind was selected on the basis of numerous criteria including the strength of its Enterprise Content Management system (eCMS) and the results of the project recently undertaken for Visit Sussex.

Tourism is a vital contributor to Brighton & Hove's economy, bringing in over 400 million pounds and supporting around 13,000 jobs a year. The new site will position Brighton as 'a compact city with everything within your reach'. VisitBrighton's main requirements are that the site will have a distinctive cutting edge design that sets Brighton apart and really reflects the cosmopolitan, free thinking, creative and energetic nature of the city, as well as an intuitive booking process and clear calls to action on every page. Other pre-requisites for the site and DMS include:-

- the ability to develop a site which can satisfy the needs of VisitBrighton's target market ie. 25-40 year old, high spending 'Cosmopolitans' with a high level of internet usage and high expectations in terms of functionality and design

- the capacity to store vast volumes of product data, capable of being organised in a way in which Contact Centres and site visitors can gain instant access to tourism information

- access to wider international markets by enabling the distribution of data to a network of tourism partners

- the ability to track return on investment from marketing campaigns ie. volumes of enquiries and bookings resulting

Suzanne Mantell, Visitor Services Manager at VisitBrighton comments :

The new site and DMS will be live in November 2008.
