.NET Web Application Developer

Salary

• £30K - £32K negotiable based upon skills and experience.

• Performance related bonus scheme after 12 months.

New Mind is an award winning new-media consultancy offering integrated internet, marketing and technology solutions.  As one of the leading suppliers of Destination Management (DMS) and Enterprise Content Management systems to the UK tourism market, we are now taking our eTourism solution to international markets.

Your technical abilities and experience will be of a standard which allow you to rapidly build whole, globalized solutions and significantly enhance existing ones. You will also consistently produce high quality technical documentation.

Based in our Liverpool office you will be working with several teams of application developers across Europe.  Your technology awareness and programming aptitude will allow you to work closely with Senior Developers to guide and influence development.

You will lead by example and implement ‘best practice’ technical procedures and QA processes. You will also provide technical advice and guidance to your peers and the Development Management Team.

Essential Technical Requirements:

• Demonstrable commercial understanding & experience of .NET using C#
• 2+ years  ASP.NET experience
• Demonstrable experience & understanding of Object Oriented design
• Experience working with Classic ASP using VBScript
• 2 Year+ commercial experience of SQL Server and T-SQL
• Understanding of Database Query Optimisation and Indexes
• Experience of XML Web Services / SOAP / WCF
• Experience of working with XML (XPath / XSLT)
• HTML/XHTML with CSSClient side JavaScript

Advantageous:

• Experience of Object Relational Mapping technologies (esp. NHibernate)
• Experience of SQL Server Database Administration
• Experience of IIS Administration

WEB INTERFACE DEVELOPER

(Salary 14-18K)

We are looking for dedicated and talented website builders with Photoshop, XHTML and CSS skills who love to create and build unique designs and highly usable interfaces using code that adheres to excellent web standards.

The successful candidates with a strong background in HTML and CSS will work in close collaboration with our graphic designers to translate Photoshop designs and wireframe concepts into clean, styled and maintainable websites that will work across all of our supported web browsers (IE, Safari, Firefox), websites using our in-house industry leading, enterprise-level content management system.

New Mind is very willing to look at training junior candidates in these respects.

Essential Skills:

• Have the ability to slice Photoshop files.
• Be able to create CSS-based layouts and Integrate these and HTML into templates.
• Have a familiarity with usability and interface design concepts
• Have expertise in hand coding XHTML/CSS to strict web standards and cross browser / platform compliancy.
• Be familiar with website content population and content styling skills.
• Champion technical planning processes from functional requirements through to testing.

Advantageous:

• Be experienced in a full online design/development lifecycle from creative concept development and pitch to completion, though.
• Have a strong knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Yahoo YUI and jQuery and source control systems (CVS, SVN, etc.)
• An awareness of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).

Support Developer

(Salary 15-20K)

As part of the Support Team the candidate's main responsibilities will be to fix issues on New Mind websites reported by our expanding customer base. A 'can do' attitude and first class problem solving skills will also be key, as is the ability to work quickly under pressure and provide solutions that are accepted by customers at the first time of asking. Although this is not primarily a customer facing role, the candidate may be asked to liaise directly with clients, and in exceptional circumstances, help on the Service Desk. Good communication skills, both written and verbal are therefore also necessary.

The successful candidate should have some exposure to a web development environment and the following core skills:

• Expertise in hand coding HTML/CSS to strict web standards and cross browser / platform compliance.
• Experience in web technologies, preferably ASP in VBScript.

Advantageous:

• Java Script
• SQL Scripting
• Flash
• Exposure to complex content management systems
• Previous experience of working on an Application Support Team
• Web application testing
• Awareness of SEO
