New Mind is in the process of developing a series of new tourism websites following their successful bid to implement their renowned Destination Management System (DMS) for South East Wales.

The existing www.visitcardiff.com site will be redeveloped to build on Cardiff's growing reputation as a top tourism destination. It will feature the latest online promotional techniques and tools that will enable visitors to the site to plan and book their visit from their own PC with unrivalled access to information, images and interactive tools. In addition, the DMS will not only feed the new site with a host of regional data but will allow for more sophisticated profiling of visitors for future marketing campaigns.
New Mind's new Visit Cardiff website will promote the city's rich cultural heritage, unique attractions, top class entertainment, great shops and acres of peaceful parkland. The site will act as a showcase for Cardiff Bay, home to a magnificent freshwater lake with sailing, water sports, five star accommodation and a wealth of places to eat and drink. Interactive features, personalised itineraries, sophisticated searches and seamless online booking will all help to enhance the visitor experience.
Sally Edwards Hart, Head of Tourism for Cardiff Council, said the DMS was a very exciting development for the region. “The New Mind system will help us look after our visitors more efficiently than before and enable tourism partners across South East Wales to work together in a more co-ordinated and consistent way. It will also open up new markets to many of our smaller operators, because it’ll link to the Visit Wales and Visit Britain systems and their worldwide marketing networks.”
Richard Thomas, Managing Director of Cardiff & Co, the city’s marketing company said, “The new www.visitcardiff.com website will be at the cutting edge of UK tourism destination websites and in many respects will be ahead of the game. We already have over 1m visitors a year to the existing www.visitcardiff.com website and we’ll ensure that there is a smooth transition from the old to the new website".
Two further dedicated websites are also under development to promote Cardiff's wide range of conference facilities and events. All three sites are due to go live by the end of October.

A further website for 'The Valleys' will provide visitors with ideas on how to explore the spectacular welsh valleys of South Wales and learn about the history and heritage of the region on their travels. The site will include information on where to stay, places to eat and things to do all instantly accessible to entice visitors to the region, as well as information on where to Live, Work, Study and Play for local residents. The site will be live by the end of September.
