Two new websites have been launched this week by New Mind to promote the spectacular valleys of South Wales. Welsh band, Lostprophets kicked off the proceedings...
The sites represent the latest phase in the high profile 'The Valleys - Heart and Soul Campaign' aimed at stimulating economic activity, increasing tourism numbers and changing people's perceptions of the region.

New Mind has developed the tourism site www.thevalleys.co.uk, promoting the areas attractions, accommodation and places to visit. The site emphasises the fabulous outdoor activities that this beautiful area of South Wales has to offer including lakes, forests, open hillsides and country parks, as well as its rich and varied industrial heritage.
A site for the Homecoming campaign, www.thevalleys.co.uk/homecoming aims to persuade people with Valleys links, whether they were born there, have lived in the area or have family ties, to visit the region and see how it has been transformed in recent years. The site has been created in both English and Welsh and includes e-postcards to send to friends and relatives who have left The Valleys, as well as a fun quiz to find out 'How Valleys are you?'.
Vicki Spencer, Campaign and Communications Manager at The Valleys comments "New Mind's support throughout the project has been crucial to our success. They carried out extensive research to identify exactly what visitors to The Valleys are looking for and incorporated their findings into the design, structure, content and imagery of the sites. We are extremely pleased with the results."
A private gig by Lostprophets was the first of a string of flagship events across the region, with the objective of letting people know what it is that makes the Valleys so special.
