New Mind's redeveloped Enquiry Management System (EMS), an integral part of their acclaimed Destination Management System, will be commencing roll-out to their tourism customer base shortly.
The EMS is designed to manage the full range of calls, bookings and brochure requests which are received by a Visitor Information Centre. New Mind has invested significant resources over the last few months in redeveloping the system using Microsoft's latest .Net technology in order to 'future proof' its potential. Migration to .Net will not only provide a platform for continuous innovation but will also deliver a number of immediate benefits to tourism providers.
The new EMS is more intuitive, provides faster access to information and increased flexibility. Users can apply filters to search results in order to retrieve the appropriate information for the visitor, including facilities, keywords, gradings and price. These filters can be saved for fast retrieval when performing future searches.

Accommodation searches are grouped into five different availability types, each colour coded and sorted into Real Time, Allocated, Indicative, Unconfirmed and Not Available. Users can also configure the screens to their own individual preferences by adding/removing field headings and widening columns.

Richard Veal, Managing Director of New Mind comments "We have ploughed significant resources into the redevelopment of our EMS and we feel positive that the new system will deliver immediate benefits to our clients in terms of improved efficiency, a major consideration in the current economic climate."
Training on the new system will be provided via New Mind's new online training facility. An animated character will guide users through a number of intuitive sessions using relevant examples and clear instructions. Users will benefit from this more flexible approach, building sessions in around their own diary and workload.
