New Mind's longest standing tourism customer, the Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board (LBTB) are redeveloping www.visitlancashire.com to include a range of innovative Web 2.0 features.

New Mind originally created LBTB's site back in March 2002 and it was revisited again in 2006 for a design makeover and the addition of new enhanced functionality. The site has experienced major success since its initial implementation, with an increase in the size of its consumer database by 335% and a significant increase in monthly unique visitors in the four year period between February 2004 and February 2008.
Plans for the new site include the ability for visitors to personalise the home page content according to their specific interests, whether it be Living Legends, Family Fun or a range of other themes. In-house editors will be able to pull through content from a variety of sources including social networking sites such as You Tube and Trip Advisor. Initial investigations are also taking place on the implementation of photo competitions using existing technologies such as Flickr.
The target date for the launch of the new site is September 2008.
