New Mind has won a contract to implement a new web site and DMS for the Cotswolds in the county of Gloucestershire.
Tourism is a vital part of Gloucestershire's economy and is the county's fourth largest employer, generating approximately £750 million in tourism revenue. The primary objective for the new site will be to position the Costwolds diversity as a traditional yet quirky destination in order to boost visitor numbers.
The site will provide all of the information that a visitor will need to plan a trip to the area including comprehensive information on where to stay and what to do. The Cotswolds plentiful tourism offer includes pretty villages, bustling market towns, farmers markets, an abundance of history and heritage, fantastic gardens and ideal landscapes for cycling and walking, not to mention an array of spas for those who just want to relax.
The Cotswolds' status as an international brand will be reflected by the design and content of the site, complemented by eye-catching imagery and motivational copy to deliver the 'wow' factor.
Senior Tourism Officer for the Cotswolds and Forest of Dean, Sarah Taylor comments "Working with New Mind has been a refreshing and enjoyable experience. The team's knowledge of the tourism sector means that they have a total understanding of our requirements and their ability to provide technical solutions translated into real business benefits has simplified the whole project process."
The site will be live during Summer 2008. Developments for the future include translation of pages into German, Spanish and French and specific elements for the Chinese and Russian markets. An SEO campaign, directory submissions, PR and advertising will also be initiated in order to create awareness of the new site subsequent to its launch.
