The English Riviera Tourist Board is thrilled to have scooped a highly coveted award for their state-of-the-art website at www.englishriviera.co.uk . The website, which was completely redesigned and re-launched at the end of last year, was awarded 'Best In Class' in the category of Best Website Homepage at the annual British Resorts and Destinations Association (BRADA) Awards.

The homepages of more that 60 BRADA member websites were accessed by members of BRADA and Carrier Direct Marketing, sponsors of the award, on a number of criteria, including their content, functionality, design and accessibility, but the English Riviera Tourist Board beat off every other destination in the UK to take the most sought-after accolade. Aviva Pearson, Director of Tourism accepted the award at the awards ceremony, held as part of BRADA's annual conference in Southport.
Aviva Pearson said: "The award was totally unexpected and we were absolutely delighted to win at such a distinguished event. A huge amount of hard work went into making the English Riviera Tourist Board website the best in the country, so it was wonderful to get this sort of recognition in front of our industry peers. The website is a gateway to the wonderful things on offer in our resort and we have strived to make the content and design both welcoming and functional. We are also hosting the BRADA Conference here next year as part of a busy programme of tourism-related conferences, so next year we aim to win even more awards as the host resort."
Peter Hampson, Director of BRADA said: "This is a really important award, as websites are becoming so important to the planning and booking of seaside breaks in the UK. Resorts like the English Riviera are now combining the traditional with the cosmopolitan and stylish and it's vital that websites reflect these exciting developments. The site at www.englishriviera.co.uk is fresh and functional and aimed squarly at attracting evolving market needs. We are really looking forward to bringing next year's conference to such a dynamic resort and have already been teased about the wonderful things on offer through the excellent English Riviera Tourist Board wesbite."
Councillor Beryl McPhail said: "I would like to congratulate the English Riviera Tourist Board on winning this award - they should be proud of this wonderful accolade. The talented team are always developing innovative ways to attract more visitors to the area and to showcase the fantastic facilities and natural environment we have to offer. They are certainly leading the way when it comes to marketing and web design and I am sure that this is just the first of many accolades they will receive in the future."
