Managing Director of New Mind, Richard Veal, was one of a select group of senior IT professionals at Buckingham Palace yesterday for the unveiling of the new royal website, www.royal.gov.uk by the Queen.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee, creator of the world wide web, Brent Hoberman, founder of lastminute.com, Michael Smith of Firebox and assortment of other well respected professionals from Google, Apple and AOL were all invited for the launch. Sir Tim provided a brief history of the web and the royal site and then handed a remote control device to the Queen to unveil the new 'virtual rooms' surprise element, high resolution pictures shot inside Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.

The event provided a rare opportunity for Richard to network with some of the world's best known web entreprenuers and even a brief chat with Her Majesty herself.
