The Mersey Partnership are launching an initiative which will provide visitors to hotels in the North West with access to New Mind's DMS via TVs in their rooms.
The new facility will replace the guides which are currently in rooms with a set-top box providing information on the hotel, places to eat and drink with images and videos.
New Mind is working with The Mersey Partnership, the NWDA and ICDC (The International Centre for Digital Content), an organisation which helps companies to exploit digital technology. The project involves the provision of DMS data and other rich media information to visitors in their hotel via their a digital bedroom browser on their TVs. Consumers will be able to access a menu and click between sections to watch videos or scan listings of attractions and events via New Mind's DMS. The trial will involve an Apple TV box connected to the internet via a broadband connection, initially in 10 rooms in 4 different hotels in Liverpool. ICDC will monitor usage and collect responses to feedback questionnaires during the trial.
