Training
Training and engagement are critical to the success of this project.
Although the DMS is extremely easy to use, we are completely committed to ensuring that all those associated with the delivery of the DMS receive not only one-off system training but also ongoing training support and encouragement in maximising the potential tourism marketing and sales benefits of the solution.
Our team includes highly experienced trainers for the DMS and the eCMS. Our team has extensive experience in defining training requirements, designing training programmes and delivering training for all levels of user competency.
Our approach to training will be to define at the outset what functionality from the DMS and Content Management tools specific groups of users will need to support their business operation. In broad terms we would recommend that training in the core modules of the DMS could be divided into four target user categories broadly defined as follows:
- Data Stewards/TIC or Call Centre Staff with responsibility for product data management:
- Training sessions will enable users to deploy the Product Management System, Mailing Lists and Online Data Checking Module, including linking products together (e.g. linking an event with a particular attraction); assigning products to Marketing Channels; and using the Product Management System to store brochure as ‘products’ along with their stock.
- TIC/Call Centre staff:
- Training to enable them to use the DMS to manage the full range of calls, bookings and brochure requests. The sessions will cover the Enquiry Management System and Availability Updating modules, but can also cover the Product Management System to enable them to provide added value services to their callers (e.g. sourcing suitable additional products to fulfil customer requirements).
- Marketing teams, Tourism Managers and staff, Call Centre Managers:
- Training to enable them to deploy the full range of Consumer CRM, Business CRM, Contact Management and Management Reporting modules within the DMS.
- Accommodation Providers.
Our normal practice is to incorporate the provider training into a number of workshop/seminar sessions that can be attended by providers intending to engage with online booking. These seminars are designed to ‘animate’ providers on the overall business benefits of exploiting online marketing opportunities (including small business case studies); how pricing can be used strategically to effect online sales; ways of making sure the product information they supply attracts their target consumers.
Online Training
Over the last 12 months, some of our training development resource has actually been re-appropriated into the creation of a series of online training courses whereby an animated character talks the user through guided sessions of each module. Please see in ther right column a number of Screen Grabs from the online Training Modules.
