Planning Services
Before diving straight in to delivery mode, we are firm believers in understanding where the DMO is currently positioned in terms its provision of these services.
Our evaluation will focus on the following 3 areas:
Tourism Asset Review
One of the most surprising things we find about working with destinations is the tendency to treat all tourism providers as of equal importance. The creation of a Tourism Asset Map for your destination enables you to see very clearly which providers need to be focused on in order to make the destination stand out from your competitors. This facilitates a more targeted approach to web marketing whilst ensuring the most important DMS records have prominence and meet the highest standards.
DMS Data Audit
This entails a thorough review of your existing DMS data with regards to the detail, accuracy and richness of information held about your tourism products.
The result is a report that gives you a good insight into the quality of your current data collection processes. We highlight any areas of weakness as well as make recommendations about specific products that need attention. We also suggest any appropriate re-categorisation of providers to ensure that a first-class visitor information architecture is achieved.
Visitor Web Site Review
Despite the growth of other digital channels, your visitor web site is still the shop window of your destination and there is no excuse for it falling short of customer expectations.
With this in mind, we conduct a review of your current web site and take a view on what needs to be changed in order to maximize its commercial potential. The review will consider the broad areas of design, information architecture, functionality, usability and of course content presentation.
The course of action that follows will be different in every case. It may be possible to retro-fit a best practice booking process to your existing site and likewise, add in new functionalities and features. Alternatively, we may recommend that the money spent on making the modifications would be better invested in a completely new visitor portal. The options for this will be discussed at the time.
