New Mind | tellUs has secured a contract to redevelop the tourism website for one of the UK's most vibrant destinations this week.
Brighton & Hove attracts over 11 million visitors a year and tourism contributes an estimated £780 million into the local economy. Figures released by the Office for National Statistics last year ranked Brighton as the 8th most visited destination for city breaks and the most popular seaside resort for overseas visitors.
New Mind | tellUs developed the existing site, www.visitbrighton.com 8 years ago. VisitBrighton, the official destination marketing body for Brighton & Hove have now tasked the company with a complete redesign, worthy of a top 10 UK destination.
The new site will be responsive, providing an optimum user experience for mobile browsers, as well maximising its commercial potential via online bookings and integrated ticket sales for attractions and events. A key requirement is to boost accommodation bookings by integrating TripAdvisor, among other tools.
The site's design will be contemporary, individual and inspirational, reflecting the 'only in Brighton' brand values. Images which represent the key brand terms associated with Brighton, ie. 'vibrant, colourful, creative and free' will be incorporated to make the site stand out from the crowd.
The key content which visitors search for including What's On, Things to Do and Eating & Drinking will be highlighted, as well as the unique aspects of the city, from a dedicated LGBT section to a focus on the South Downs National Park and internationally recognised UNESCO Biosphere.
Sarah Baker of VisitBrighton comments "We are really excited to be redesigning the VisitBrighton website and moving it to a responsive platform. In 2015 it's critical that users receive the optimum experience they expect from a leading destination website, both in terms of being inspired, as well as being given all the necessary tools to easily plan their trip on the go – from online accommodation bookings to event tickets."
Andy Abram, Director of New Mind | tellUs UK comments "We are delighted to have the opportunity to redevelop the VisitBrighton site and we look forward to creating an online presence which reflects its status as one of the top destinations in the UK."
