Destination Harstad - First to Opt for Tourism Essentials Solution in Norway

Destination Harstad is the first New Mind | tellUs client in Norway to take advantage of the Tourism Essentials web solution, with great results and no compromise on the visitor experience.

The new site, http://en.destinationharstad.no/  positions Harstad as an adventure playground for outdoor enthusiasts.  Located in the Troms County in the North of Norway, the area's geography with mountains and lowland areas, numerous islands, open sea and fjords offers a diverse visitor experience with a wealth of opportunities including hiking, cycling, boat trips, fishing, downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as its cultural offerings and fantastic local food. 

Visitors are also invited to experience the natural phenomenon of the 'midnight sun' (between May and July) and also Harstad's own unique natural light show in the form of the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights (visible on clear nights during the Winter).

Harstad's offer is represented in a clean and concise format, backed up by stunning imagery to showcase the area's spectacular beauty.  The Tourism Essentials option was selected for the development of the site to provide the ultimate in flexibility and affordability.  All the basic functionality that visitors expect to find is included, with the option to add extra functionality as required.  The new site features two language versions (Norwegian and English) plus Google Translate for 5 other languages, newsletter signup and What's Nearby carousels for optimum trip planning.

Destination Harstad will also have the ability to add channel sites and further page templates for campaigns, recruitment and competitions in future phases of development.
