Marketing Manchester Procures Full Place Marketing Solution from New Mind | tellUs

Marketing Manchester has tasked New Mind | tellUs with the development of an inspiring place marketing platform which will represent Greater Manchester as a place to visit, meet, invest, do business, study and live.

The promotion of Manchester as a destination currently runs across a number of sites and the new digital strategy identifies that there is potential to improve the user journey and crossover between the sites, as well as increasing traffic and revenue generation capability.  The strategy sets out to meet the demands and expectations of today's digital users, provide world-leading destination promotion and maximise commercial opportunities.

New project for Destination Manchester

The project will involve a complete redevelopment of Manchester's web presence so that it becomes the most trusted and visited source of information about visiting, investing, doing business and studying in the region.  By creating one complete set of destination sites that exist side by side, a bigger, more joined-up picture for Manchester will be presented which  exploits the latest technology and social media tools and utilises all of the commercial opportunities at the organisation's disposal.

The site will embody Manchester's modern brand vision with information being provided to the right people, in the right place at the right time, within a sustainable digital platform.  It will feature rich content, updated on a daily basis by the team at Marketing Manchester in collaboration with the DMO's partner network across Greater Manchester including transport companies, venues, businesses, educational establishments, key influencers and the media.  A range of social media platforms will be seamlessly integrated to allow the organisation to present a collective, cohesive narrative for Manchester.

These will now be combined in to a consistent set of destination sites, providing users with a cohesive and straightforward experience. The new website will also be fully optimised for mobile use, which is imperative due to the vast number of users who now choose to access the site via mobile rather than computer. On top of this, the technology behind the site and the visual aesthetic clearly needed bringing up to date, to present a vision of Manchester in line with the city’s contemporary image.
