Four New Sites for the Spectacular Fjord Norway Region

Following the successful completion of by the team at New Mind | tellUs last month, the spectacular region has welcomed the arrival of four new destination sites this month.

Firstly, world heritage city and gateway to the fjords, Bergen has revealed a sleek new look and improved functionality.  The site, sets out to position the city as 'pulsating' with something always going on to suit all tastes, whether it's exploring its streets, architecture and theatres or enjoying hiking, cycling or fishing in the seven surrounding mountains.

Gjertrud Coutinho, webmaster of Visit Bergen comments: "2015 was a year filled with exciting new developments for us at Bergen Tourist Board. We needed a new upgraded website for, mainly due to the fact that our old system was not fully responsive.
We also wanted an 'out of the box' solution, so we can spend more time in the future on good content rather that technical development. New Mind | tellUs had a solution that could work for us, even though we identified that there were a few extra elements that were needed for our project. During the build stage we found New Mind | tellUs very open and positive about our requirements and wishes and we are confident this will continue after going live.
I think that the Norwegian projects have brought a few challenges to the New Mind | tellUs platform, but the team have taken these issues on board and identified where developments are required. The team has really worked hard to meet our needs and I think the good relationship has helped the process along. I think that the front end is working beautifully and I hope it will bring even more visitors to Bergen!"

A new site for Sognefjord, has also been launched. Situated in the middle of the Fjord Norway region, Sognefjord is Norway's longest and deepest fjord at 204 km in length and 1300 m deep.  National Geographic Traveller Magazine called this area 'the world's most iconic destination' and the new website sets out to justify the claim.  The area's beautiful dramatic scenery lends itself to outdoor activities with hiking, glacier walking, kayaking and rafting but food and drink and culture are also available in abundance.

Meanwhile Voss, home of the annual Ekstremsportveko extreme sports festival and a mecca for adrenaline seekers, has also launched its new look,, to exploit its year-round adventure playground.  Voss boasts the largest skiing resort in Western Norway as well as hiking, kayaking and climbing in idyllic snow-covered mountains, valleys and forests. 

Finally, the design of the new site for Sunnfjord, promotes its starkly contrasting fjord scenery, from gentle landscapes and charming villages to powerful waterfalls and magnificent mountainous backdrops. 

All four sites feature striking imagery portraying each destination, prominent and intuitive search functionality and highlighted products to fast-track visitors to relevant attractions, accommodation and events. 

Managing Director of New Mind | tellUs Scandinavia comments "Visit Bergen has been a client of New Mind | tellUs for almost 15 years but it is the first time that we have built their website. We know how important the website is for the city of Bergen and for the commercial success of Visit Bergen. Needless to say, we were really excited to get this big responsibility.

It has been a stimulating challenge to deliver a site that lives up to Visit Bergen's high expectations and standards. We are really satisfied with the end result and appreciate the input from the Visit Bergen staff and their willingness to seek solutions. They have helped us to take the platform a step further and the end result looks absolutely fantastic.

Coupled with the launch of more great sites for Voss, Sognefjord and Sunnfjord, the Fjord Norway destination portfolio now represents an excellent suite of web solutions for these very important Norwegian destinations.
