Site for Britain's Oldest Recorded Town Gets a Makeover

26th March 2016

Categories: Our News

Britain's oldest recorded town, Colchester, has launched a new website this week following a makeover by the team at NVG.

Visit Colchester is one of NVG’s longest standing clients. The development of the new Visit Colchester website, www.visitcolchester.com forms part of NVG's Essex Partnership agreement which the destinations of Southend and Saffron Walden have already benefitted from.

With a rich history dating back over 2000 years, the town has plenty to offer to the visitor.  The new site promotes Colchester's cultural heritage including a Roman Temple, beautiful medieval buildings and award winning museums housing collections of international importance, as well as its outdoor attractions and eclectic mix of eating, drinking and shopping venues. NVG's PopUp Events Calendar, Content Managed Highlight Sliders, CRM Forms, Featured Data Highlight Sliders and Rotating Header Images all help the visitor to navigate around Colchester's fascinating past and thriving present.

The SEO expertise of New Mind | tellUs has also been deployed to ensure that the site gets the exposure that it deserves.

Claire Taylor of Colchester Borough Council comments "Developing tourism is a key priority for Colchester Borough Council and we expect the new site to play a key role in supporting the visitor economy in the area."
