The recently formed Tourism Media Group has won its first major collaborative project this month with Cumbria Tourism enlisting the group's collective expertise for the development of the new www.golakes.co.uk destination website.
Combining the skills of the teams at New Mind | tellUs and NVG, in terms of best practice design and innovative functionality, the new site promises to deliver a refreshing new approach to the promotion of Cumbria and the Lake District.
The destination has an abundance of tourism potential, all of which will be exploited to entice and engage the visitor. At 885 square miles, the Lake District is England’s largest national park and the only 8 peaks over 900m in England are all located in Cumbria (Bowfell 902m, Great End 910m, Skiddaw 931m, Broad Crag 934m, Ill Crag 935m, Helvellyn 950m, Sca Fell 965m, Scafell Pike, 978m) and waiting to be explored. The destination can also boast England’s deepest lake, Wastwater and longest lake, Windermere creating opportunities for adventure, from walking to abseiling and swimming to kayaking.
The Lake District and Cumbria has more than a world famous natural environment on offer too, with 50 stone circles and Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as plenty of local history and heritage to keep the visitor engaged.
Cumbria Tourism's brief was primarily concerned with giving the site a more contemporary design as well as ensuring that the build was fully mobile responsive. Focus is also being given to the way in which the tourism providers are presented on the site and enhancing the quality and number of commercial opportunities that they can buy into.
Ben Tagg of the Tourism Media Group comments "Go Lakes are one of our oldest clients and we are very excited to be working closely with them on this important project. We are looking forward to delivering the wider range of products and services that we can now offer to the project such as the Crimtan Ad Network."
Rachel Tyson of Cumbria Tourism comments "Following meetings with New Mind | tellUs and NVG we realised that their combined resources would offer one fully integrated solution which would meet all of our needs, both now and in the future. We are delighted to continue working with the team at NVG and we look forward to benefiting from the extended portfolio of services now on offer from the wider Tourism Media Group."
