Peak District & Derbyshire Exploits Group's Digital Expertise

Experience Peak District & Derbyshire is the latest destination to exploit the combined resources of New Mind | tellUs and NVG as it appoints the group for the development of a brand new website and e-tourism solution for the Peak District and Derbyshire.

The Peak District is a popular tourism destination lying mainly within Derbyshire but also including parts of the counties of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Staffordshire and Yorkshire. The Peak District National Park was the UK's first National Park and includes 555 miles of rolling hills, moorland and farmland. The area has been inspiring people for centuries, including Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte and is now the destination of choice for film crews due to its varied landscapes and atmospheric scenery.  Pretty villages, vibrant market towns and some of the best historic houses and castles in the country (including Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Renishaw Hall) combine to create a wealth of potential for the visitor.

The organisation behind the destination, Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire is looking to consolidate a series of disparate websites to create one definitive online resource for visitors to the Peak District and Derbyshire. The new responsive site will combine the area's popular attractions and hidden gems into a comprehensive tourism offer within a contemporary design, utilising stunning imagery to convey the area's beauty and diversity.  Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire will devise a series of suggested itineraries to entice the visitor and the new map widget from New Mind | tellUs will facilitate the trip planning process with its new visual elements and enhanced search capability.  Extensive blog content, created by the Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire team, will allow the destination to exploit the growing trend for storytelling to stir the imagination of the traveller. The site's blog and itineraries will both incorporate commercial opportunities for the area's providers to hightlight their businesses.

The project represents a pooling of the group's resources, deploying a CMS (Content Management System) from New Mind | tellUs and NVG's Guestlink Property Management System to poll and display availability for the area's accommodation providers.
