A New Site for the Tees Valley, the North East's Hidden Gem

New Mind | tellUs is looking forward to working on an exciting project to position the Tees Valley as a key leisure and tourism destination.

Created in  April 2016, the Tees Valley Combined Authority is a partnership of five authorities; Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees, all working together with the aim of driving economic growth for the area.

The Tees Valley is located in North East England, nestled between North Yorkshire and County Durham. Covering an area of 304 square miles, it has a population of around 660,000 people living and working there.  The area is beautiful and diverse, home to vibrant market towns, picturesque villages, impressive historic venues and excellent eateries. The Tees Valley boasts access to some of the most spectacular countryside in the UK, as well as stunning coastlines, framed by a dramatic industrial heritage.

The new responsive site will inspire visitors, motivating them to do more, stay longer and keep coming back. It will emphasise the area's diversity and calibre of attractions, not just for visitors but also to residents to mobilise them to explore what's on offer on their doorstep.  It will meet the expectations of local businesses too, facilitating improved cooperation with the business community to support the growth of the Tees Valley economy.

Linda Tuttiett, Head of Culture & Tourism for the Tees Valley Combined Authority comments: "We are delighted to be working with New Mind | tellUs to develop a new destination management system fit for purpose in today’s world of increased consumer choice, demand and expectations of their leisure and business destinations. The Tees Valley is ambitious in its plans to build awareness of our exciting destination and looks forward to working in partnership with colleagues in VisitBritain and across the North of England".

The new site will be live in October 2017
