A major e-tourism project involving the creation of a suite of new sites, the implementation of a sophisticated technology platform and an extensive data migration exercise for Destination Staffordshire has commenced rollout.

The top priority for the project was the new Enjoy Staffordshire visitor site promoting the county as a whole and featuring the destination's established brand identity. From an adrenaline pumping ride on one of the World's best rollercoasters to a relaxing walk among free-roaming endangered species, the new Enjoy Staffordshire website delivers everything that visitors need to know.

The site entices the visitor to explore 'Staffordshire's Destinations' including the stunning Staffordshire Peak District (with a host of information on walks, cycling trails, food festivals and places to eat), The National Forest, Cannock Chase (central England's wooded jewel and a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty) and the world capital of ceramics, Stoke-on-Trent. The  'Get to Know Staffordshire' blog offers tips and inspiration on a host of activities including reasons to visit, best events, great afternoon teas and tantalising restaurants.

Complementing the visitor site, the industry channel site is a great resource for Staffordshire's tourism businesses, with information on membership and advertising opportunities, the ERDF funded business support programme, facts and figures, networking events, conferences and industry news.

NVG's 'Web in Box' solution has been adopted for the Staffordsheer Escapes micro site, which promotes bookable short break packages and the ever-popular Thrillhopper attraction pass for access to four of the UK's best theme parks.

Partner organisation Visit Stoke has adopted the web template developed by Destination Staffordshire and a new Visit Stoke destination site is due to go live next month.

Andrea Sammons of Destination Staffordshire comments "It was really important to us to develop responsive websites that work effectively across all devices, particularly mobile phones. As we are tracking year-on-year web traffic growth from these devices we wanted to ensure that the navigation, browsing and booking experience for mobile users was just as good as it is for desktop or laptop users.

Working with New Mind | tellUs and NVG, we have been able to capture the essence of our county and showcase it through bold imagery and rich content, which not only enhances the website visitor journey, but also improves our SEO."
