New Mind | tellUs has been contracted by Marketing Sheffield to help them to launch a 'new type of city break' combining outdoor adventure with a city experience.

The project will be delivered in collaboration with Sheffield based creative agency Jaywing and will involve the design of a new brand identity and the delivery of a new website and eTourism solution. The Sheffield Outdoor City brand was originally launched in 2015 with great success, with the objective of targeting a younger millennial market with the message that Sheffield offers the perfect combination of outdoor and city activities.

Marketing Sheffield are setting out to create a new type of short city break, allowing outdoor sport enthusiasts to indulge their passion for adventure alongside the culture, community and nightlife of the city of Sheffield.  Research shows that the adventure market is growing and Marketing Sheffield's target market is likely to be highly educated, earning relatively high incomes and interested in city breaks.  The core proposition will be to keep the adventure flowing by combining outdoor adventure with a fun city break.

The new project aims to attract new visitors and advocates beyond the UK, particularly Northern Europe (Germany and the Netherlands) in the 20-35 age group, travelling as couples or small groups.  Research suggests that this group may not be looking for typical activities but prefer to meet locals and benefit from their knowledge and experience.

The new website and eTourism solution from New Mind | tellUs will enable a distinct set of complementary products, targeted at the millennial market, to be packaged within themed itineraries and supported by blogs, mapping, improved bookability and curated content.

The new site is expected to be launched by the end of the year.
