BoxOfficeWidget Offers New Revenue Stream for DMOs - 'It's a No-Brainer'

New Mind | tellUs DMOs, Marketing Manchester and Marketing Liverpool are now benefitting from a brand new revenue stream following successful implementations of WebTicketManager's online ticketing solution.

The partnership between New Mind | tellUs and WebTicketManager was originally formed in response to the growing need for DMOs to be able to offer visitors a one-stop solution for searching and buying tickets for attractions, events and tours direct from their destination websites.  The result is a refreshing (and unique) approach to ticketing which requires no capital outlay from the DMO and no license fees or tie-ins for the attractions or event users.

The solution is the BoxOfficeWidget which enables visitors to your destination website to directly purchase tickets for participating attractions, venues and events by accessing real time inventory and pricing information.  DMOs receive a percentage fee for each ticket sold on their sites without having to do a thing!

Payments to the DMO are fully automated, with fees from the sale of tickets being paid direct into their bank accounts. This sophisticated payments and settlement process is unique to the partnership between New Mind | tellUs & WebTicketManager and ensures a quality of service to the DMO that is unmatched anywhere in the world.

Another key differentiator for the solution is that at no time will the DMO be buying tickets and selling them on.  The BoxOfficeWidget is simply a booking portal through which users of your destination website deal directly with local attractions to buy tickets.

As the BoxOfficeWidget is already integrated with our Destination Management System (DMS), it doesn't cost the DMO anything, plus set-up is easy and no technical resources are required to maintain or operate the system. The widget has been created to blend into the destination site's design to provide visitors with a seamless experience.  Check out the examples on the Visit Liverpool and Visit Manchester websites.

In terms of performance measurement and control, the DMO has access to a back office database and a comprehensive set of reports including remittance, full sales breakdown and affiliate sales.

For visitor attractions, events and venues who want to participate, that's easy too.  WebTicketManager will deal directly with them to set up an account and will be on hand to provide full, ongoing support.  They can manage all of their ticketing sales, fulfilment and reporting via access to a comprehensive back office system.  Only when a ticket is sold will a percentage fee be taken by the DMO.

And it gets better!  Once a visitor has viewed the attraction page on the DMO website, a persistent cookie is set which ensures that any ticket purchased online from that attraction, regardless of which website it happens on, is attributed to the DMO, presenting further opportunities to earn additional commission through ticket sales.
